We would like to welcome you to the ANZICS NZ Regional Annual Scientific Meeting, to be held from
Wednesday 4th to Friday 6th March 2020 at the Napier Conference Centre, Napier, NZ.
The theme for our conference is
A 2020 Vision of our Environment: The Spectrum of Intensive Care
The programme for ANZICS 2020 is now confirmed and set to truly deliver a 2020 Vision of our environment.
The Intensive care community certainly faces challenging times ahead. We aim for our interwoven themes of environmental sustainability and climate related challenges, health equity, welfare and capacity to both inspire and inform.
The team at Hawke’s Bay ICU looks forward to welcoming you to our beautiful region in March of next year.

Contribute when you Register
You will have the opportunity to offset your carbon footprint in attending this conference by making a small contribution during the registration process. We estimate that we need approximately $4 per delegate to offset your carbon footprint. Contributions will go towards Native Forest Carbon Credits with https://ekos.org.nz
Recycling & Conservation
Napier Conference Centre endorses sustainable practices for the good of the environment. Recycling stations are located in the upper and lower foyer areas. Assistance with recycling and conservation of power and water is appreciated.
We are working with Napier Conference Centre to minimise food waste plus we will be offering a great variety of delicious meals for our lunches throughout the conference, along with a good number of vegetarian options. On the odd occasion that there is food left over, we will donate this to a charity such as 'Nourished for Nil' or 'Women's Refuge'. Please ensure you bring along a refillable water bottle so we minimise the usage of disposable plastic cups!
We will NOT be supplying plastic name badges this year, rather we will print your name directly onto a sticky label and provide you with an environmentally friendly wrist band to identify you as an ANZICS 2020 conference delegate!
We won't be offering delegate satchels/bags this year so if you need a bag please feel free to bring one along with you.
- Minimize printing in general
- As much electronic information as possible
Sponsors and Exhibitors
We are working with our supporters to ensure the environmental message is passed along. Sponsors and exhibitors have been asked to ensure they reduce their waste and environmental impact by providing appropriate information about themselves and their services in electronic format rather than printed material.
