Andrew Stapleton is an intensivist and anaesthstist, the director of Hutt Hospital ICU, and the current chair of the CICM NZ national committee. he also works at HQSC on the ANZICS CORE outlier committee.
Panel Discussion: Raising the Profile of Intensive Care Medicine
In addition to engagement with the usual external parties, in the last 12 months NZ CICM has met with the DG of health, the CMO of NZ, the new director of HWNZ, the director of mental health services at the MOH, the chair of MCNZ, the director of St John's ambulance and the chair of NASO. We will be meeting the HDC commissioner this year. CICM has also chaired national meetings of the directors of both the training and non-training NZ ICUs. Areas of concern are ICU capacity, transport, and the mental health of NZ intensivists.
